Theoretical ribosomal protein mass fingerprint database

The theoretical ribosomal protein mass fingerprint database contains molecular mass information of each ribosomal protein of different species in the eukaryotic, bacterial and archaeal domains of life. Compartmentalized into the respective small and large ribosome subunit, molecular mass information of ribosomal protein could be interpreted as a mass fingerprint of ribosomal proteins in respective ribosome subunit, and thus offers possibilities for use in species identification. Molecular mass was calculated using an online molecular mass calculator (Compute pI/Mw tool, https://web.expasy.org/compute_pi/) and ribosomal protein amino acid sequence information was obtained from Ribosomal Protein Gene Database (http://ribosome.med.miyazaki-u.ac.jp/)
